BMAG Magnet’s 4,000-ton neodymium magnet plant in Ningbo has passed China’s official environmental acceptance review. The reviewing authority published the acceptance record on June 24, 2026, with a public disclosure window running through July 21. Overseas buyers can now cite the document as a primary-source reference in supplier ESG audits.
The review covered BMAG’s sintered NdFeB production plant at No. 298 Bingang Road in Fenghua, Ningbo, a 35,000-sqm facility commissioned in 2024. The acceptance procedure followed State Council Order No. 682 (Regulation on the Administration of Construction Project Environmental Protection) and Ministry of Ecology and Environment Notice 2017 No. 4, the two governing rules for post-construction environmental sign-off in China. For European buyers, the timing is directly relevant. EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) reporting obligations continue to expand through 2026, and CSRD-scoped companies are under pressure to document upstream environmental due diligence. A Chinese-government-issued environmental acceptance record is not an EU permit, but it is a primary-source document that overseas procurement, quality, and sustainability teams can attach to supplier files. For automotive Tier-1 and wind OEM buyers already sourcing under IATF 16949, adding verified environmental compliance to the same supplier package removes one open item from the audit queue.
The Ningbo plant is BMAG Magnet’s core sintered NdFeB production base. Annual capacity is 4,000 tons across grades N28 to N58. Coating options include nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni), zinc, e epoxy. Certifications on record include IATF 16949, ISO 9001, RoHS, and REACH. Six patents cover core magnet technologies. The plant serves customers in EV traction motors, wind turbine generators, industrial servo motors, home appliances, consumer electronics, and medical devices, with shipments to more than 100 countries. The 2024 capacity expansion and the 2026 environmental sign-off together close two of the compliance items most frequently requested by European buyers over the past two contract cycles.
