When application involves exposure to aggressive chemicals or requires ultra-low friction, BMAG PTFE Coated Arc Magnets (Teflon)are the superior choice. PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is a high-performance fluoropolymer known for its exceptional non-reactivity. This coating is applied over a standard Ni-Cu-Ni base to provide a secondary line of defense against harsh industrial solvents and acids.
The defining characteristic of PTFE is its chemical inertness. It can withstand exposure to corrosive substances that would strip away standard metallic platings. Additionally, PTFE has one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid material, giving the magnet a “self-lubricating” quality.
