Magnet Introduction
BMAG Zinc Plated Arc Magnets (Zn) offer a cost-effective and reliable solution for high-volume commercial applications. Typically appearing as a silver-blue or white finish, Zinc plating provides a solid barrier against oxidation. While slightly less corrosion-resistant than the triple-layer Ni-Cu-Ni, Zinc plating is often preferred for specific manufacturing advantages and budget-sensitive projects.
The primary benefit of Zinc plating is its adhesive compatibility. The surface of a Zinc-plated magnet is slightly more textured than Nickel, which allows for stronger bonds when using certain industrial adhesives and glues. It acts as a sacrificial anode, corroding before the steel substrate does, offering active protection. It is an economical choice for internal motor components where the magnet is sealed inside a housing and not directly exposed to the weather.
